Power Hammer

Holy crap, Batman, lets get this to the IG cave.

He might trade up for a few jars of your ht relish.

:)Fred

Offer him $2500 since you can't see it under power and don't know what you'd be getting into. That'll give you an idea of how flexible he is.... -d

+1 on that idea. If he's willing to go for it, could you give something like $500 down and tell him you'll be back in a couple of weeks or so with the rest?

If he wants more can you be prepared to offer half of what he's willing to sell it for (as an up front cash payment) and then ask him to take $100 a month (or some doable figure) for the other half? Then you would only have to raise half the money right away.

RAFFLE IDEA
George, how about a raffle of one of your knives or a piece of equipment? (A knife would be easier to ship and likely of more interest to more folks.) Shoot at $20 a ticket it would only take 125 tickets to raise $2500 for a upfront cash payment. 250 tickets and you've bought the hammer at his full asking price. Heck, I bet right here on these forums you could sell a hundered ticket (some of us might buy more than one). I bet you could sell a bunch more around your home town. You know damn near half of everyone in it. Sh_t just at the bars you like to go to you could probably sell a bunch. And if you don't raise enough money, you're still ok. Just pick a winner and send the lucky bloke your knife!

Hit up all us folks who have benefited so much with your help and shop. That should be good for a chunk right there!

Go for it dude. It's a no brainer!

It's not only the price of it, it is also I have no place in the smithy for it. I would need to have a slab poured and a attachment to the smithy.
I am also still hoping to move to AZ and I have more than enough things to move, never mind a 4000# power hammer.:D
I would definitely like to have it.:D

if i had the money, or if he'd take a 1976 Triumph TR6 convertible with 120k miles in fine running shape in trade, i'd go for it myself... but instead i'm pretty broke right now =( I've even got 2 grand on my credit card, just about the first time ever i've had a balance on it.

5 does sound high.. .. 3 would be good if it was in running shape..or more if it was a beaudry;)

even if its just stored till you move.. ... powerhammers are funny, seems like when you need to get one they're damn near impossible to find ...

Greg

by the way... no grease or oil on it.. that makes me worry abit

You might as well forget the hammer, IG. The fella with the hammer for sale probably already opened a jar of your HT Relish in his shop and it probably burned his shop to the ground. I keep telling folks to read the warning lable before they open the jar, hee hee!

Hey, I hope you can still work a deal for the hammer, George. We would all be tickled to see you get it. Just get a bigger trailer to haul it to AZ. You are going to haul your press to AZ, right?
