Auntie wanted me to let you all know that the power shortages in Nepal are recurring again and that's why shipments and special orders are delayed.
It is affecting production and polishing, so polished items are going to take an abnormally long time.

really sucks, hope that some solutions are found , I know we kicked around idea of a generator drive or something, but its just not cost efficient-- otherwise a slew of normally priced but unfinished handled and rough scale on the blade or villager models would be well received, as the product remains the same regardless of polish, and many people really like working on their own knives a bit!

so regardless we will stick with HI , if there is trouble with polish, just don't polish, i think we want the blades more than the polish :D

I have a Plasma generator for the HI Generator but I have not been able to get to Nepal to Install it and it is tough to set them up even when you know what to do to get it run in the first time, after run in, it is easy to start the engine.

I remember someone offering one to HI ages ago, was that you? Hows the thing work?

I would chip in on customs to get the generator to nepal-- I think with pala and auntie we could make reasonable kami instructions to operate it

What type of fuel if any would be available to the shop on a regular enough basis to benefit use of a generator ? Gas, diesel?

Doing a bit of internet browsing, I found a company in Kathmandu that designs custom solar/diesel power installations: LINK. Might not be economically feasible for HI, but they offer free evaluations.

The problem with solar is that it is obvious. With the panels having to be readily visible to passers by. Its could draw attention from those visitors wanting to extort.
The Plasma Generator is a good idea, but set up as mentioned, can be difficult and use and maintenance of it would require technical expertise not available to HI.

We do have a Generator in the shop and it helps some but not whole lot.
Thank you all for your patience

Well Karda, Plasma is the Fourth state of matter, any carbon base waste can be plasma fuel and run any kind of gas or diesel engine with plasma. Waste Oil, Bacon Grease, Animal fat etc are all Plasma fuels.
Look up G.E.E.T. or Paul Pantone, there is a plasma gas named for paul- Pantonium. The Plasma Genterators do WORK and work very well, engines do run on Implosion plasma and very powerfully.

Yes it was me and I would give my left arm to be in Nepal putting this device on the HI generator.

Yes, I've watched the video about the GEET reactor. In the video it looks like he adds a small amount (a few squirts) of waste oil into the reactor and implies that it will run for 8 hrs +. What I haven't gotten to yet is how often the fuel must be replenished to generate plasma. MPG so to speak.

We must remember that nothing is wasted in Nepal. Foodstuffs are eaten to the bone and marrow cracked. Even grease and fats are eaten and used for other necessities. They may be as hard to get or as expensive or labor intensive as normal fuel for this generator is. Add to it that no one has the expertise to set up or maintain such a system there and expertise could be expensive. Yangdu has already stated that the generator doesn't help all that much. But it is probably better that nothing. Costs and labor would need to be figured out beforehand to be able to implement this on something that isn't helping all that much anyways.

Don't get me wrong on this. I'm all for solutions that work and any help is much appreciated. But we must remember, this is a third world country with many problems and logistics can be a real bear.

Man that sounds like a cool generator. It reminds me of Back to the Future when Doc showed up at the end of the movie. He retrofitted the Plutonium based flux capacitor with a "Mr. Fission" unit that ran on old banana peels, aluminum cans, or any type of matter. I bet the tech has been out for awhile but the fossil fuel company keep it under wraps. Cold fusion is possible and has probably already been accomplished but hidden. They had devices in the 20's that put out more energy than was put in. They made the inventor "ground" the device for safety reasons which is ridiculous because any excess energy will be depleted through the ground instead of stored in some type of capacitor or battery. I remember hearing about a car that ran on water in the early 80's. I think the designer mysteriously died. Telsla's niece also died "unexpectedly" from a heart attack. Look into Tesla's work about "direct energy". They have pencil sized devices that cause heart attacks when the direct energy is pointed at them. Another area to look into is the " Huchinsen Effect". Very cools stuff and forbidden tech. Donald Rumsfeld tried to re-recruit Mr. Huxhinsen during the Bush years but he refused.

Living where I do I know a thing or two about load shedding. We have been having it for the past 4 months and it is a right PITA.

I hope that it is sorted out soon and the Kami's can get back to a normal production cycle. It is essential for their survival.

Thanks for letting us know Karda. I have two special pieces ordered from Auntie and while I am in no hurry for them it is good to have info like this.
