Great design, Sam. This is a heck of an idea for a compact hammer. Love the pull down action. Kind of like a cross between a treadle hammer and a little giant. Update us when you can.

I sure hope you make a big guard in that hammer so you or your work don't get all messed up when you get a little too close.

I got some input from Tom Troszak, the original inventor of the Bull, that helped me get my head back on straight with this, I had gotten too deep in and overthought things a bit, but am back on track. Ditched the pillow blocks, traded up for solid blocks bored out to fit. Got the treadle fabbed, got to still fab motor mount and brake, then add dies.
