Hi guys.I just picked this up at an auction. It takes 120v and sends out 0-140v. Its a heavy duty industrial unit. Its made by The Superior Electric company. I've heard people being warned away from trying to use variable speed "router controllers) to run their AC motors. I'm assuming same goes for this. Please correct me if I'm wrong here....
If that is the case and I shouldn't hook it up to my grinder, does anybody have any other suggestions as to how I might make use of it?
I was going to post a pic but just found out I can't..... have to check into that...
Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks,
Ed

You can use it for Ti anodizing but you would have to run it through a bridge rectifier to convet it to DC. Different voltages will give different colors to Ti.

Cool, I was thinking it might be useful for anodizing. I'll have to look into getting a bridge rectifier......to convert it to DC........Hmmmm, does that mean I could then use it as a speed control for a DC motor??

I can email you a bigger version of that diagram if you want. It's not very clear after photobucket resized it.
