Practical Tools

SAKs are a great tool, and I use mine almost, if not everyday for something around the yard or house.

Nice pics HD. I'm not a fan of the larger OHT models, but a Farmer is always close by.

The smaller ones are good, too. I carried the Recruit for years. It is more pocket friendly. But I wear Cabella's hiking pants and they have a special pocket that just fits the larger SAKs. My other folder, which is usually the Rat Trap, rides with a pocket clip in my right front pocket. I can do a lot with just those two folders.

I like to see people "cheat the junkman". Most people just throw the rake away and buy another cheap one from wal-mart made in China. BTW my Leatherman skeletool cx is the most useful tool I've ever owned.

Just bought this Trekker to go the jungle with me:

As well as this:

I'm not carrying any RAT knife down. I'm going to write the two knives above for a magazine article along with a machete.

Oooh, the new Micro Drop Point. I like the handle on that one. Looking forward to your review. What magazine will it appear in?

Most likely SWAT. Will probably do a "roundup" piece on jungle knives for their monthly knife column or maybe even the survival column. Anyway, it will be a straight-up, no fluff piece. SWAT is the one magazine that allows its writers to write it as they see it and not play to advertisers. That's why, IMO, it is the best magazine on the news stands if you're n gun nut, training nut, outdoor nut, survival nut or any other kind of nut. (I fit into all of those categories :D

Nice, I like Reid's Clovis pouch sheath. I use it to carry my Izula and a couple of other neckers I routinely carry when I want a nicer 'presentation' belt sheath. Its pretty versatile little pouch sheath that also holds a small flashlight securely to the belt as well.

Haha. SWAT. The locals who know me would freak if they saw me reading a cop magazine. But it sounds like that mag covers a lot of stuff I'm into. Yes, I am a shooter, too.

That's a misconception. SWAT is not a "cop magazine." Rich bought the title from Larry Flynt (Hustler magazine fame) and anyone in the biz knows you can't change a title of a magazine after it's known. So, the magazine kept the same title but the content covers everything from LE and citizen training, to 2nd Amendment issues, to knives, to survival to hunting. You will not find a magazine that is more pro-gun rights, pro-gun ownership, pro-citizen rights, pro-Individualism and anti-liberal than SWAT magazine.

Well I look forward to your review, I've got a Trekker on back order--guess I used the wrong supplier.

It was the Phillips driver that sold me on this model. I wish the awl had an eye for sewing thread to make repairs a bit easier. Otherwise pretty close to being my ideal SAK.

Yeah it's funny. I could have bought a new chainsaw, rake, and pitchfork for what I had out there today in knives.

That may be true but I think the knives are cooler. I would love to do yard work with a HEST and an OHT.
