Practicality of keeping one in car

Well, I live in Iowa, so the cops cant do much unless it is over 5 inches of blade and concealed "on or about the person".

I have knives all over my truck, never any issues. Hell, my sister is a cop.







I have to ask though...why would a guy come on bladeforums.com and say that they are not going to be carrying a knife on them?
 
Most of the guys I run around with keep at least one knife in the truck at all times. Most of us have a Buck 119 in there.

I also have a cheap serrated blade blunt tip knife I was given that I keep in the center console to cut seatbelts.
 
I always have my Victorinox Rescue Tool and a Life Hmmer in the car. They never leave the car.
 
If the cops ever search my car , I will have some explain to do. Not only do I have a dozen knives, also have an axe and a cleaver.
