Been gearing up for this for awhile now. Think I've got the process down. Just a few more to shore up my self confidence and I'm off to test.....
This one is 5160 15" over all length, flat ground, three normalizing cycles, three edge quenches, three tempering cycles at 375, then I finished the grinding and drew back the spine once.

Should work fine, just make darn sure the blade is a little less than the max length, heard about a tester getting disqualified for the blade being 1/4" too long.

Good luck

My GF and I are house hunting right now. Although Im exicted to get out of the apartment for obvious reasons, one of my hidden reasons is so that I can scrounge up an anvil and get on path for JS/MS eventually....I just can't forge with an anvil on my apartment porch....my neighbors already stare out the window every time I fire up the forge for HT....WHOOOOOOOSH
