Pray for me and mine please

Exactly.

And to the OP, remember these words of wisdom, There are many more good women, than there are good men, so you have a larger pool to fish from(sorry ladies, true fact). The second part to that is that you will be near DC. There are so many hot, successful, single, women out there, that it makes your eyes sore.
So drown your sorrows for one night with a good bottle, then get out and enjoy your new life.

It can be a lonely drive for 20 hours, so be careful and don't drive tired.

Zieg

Yes...be careful driving. Stop frequently, which I assume you will do with 3 dogs, RedBull can be your friend in times like this...hey and while you are at the rest stops...make sure to keep good watch on the dogs and not Cobalt's last post....cuz I caught myself starring before I posted this....lol.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I'm praying for you.
Be sure to find a good church and surround yourself with those that love you and can pray for you.

Very wise words.
Keep your head up and drive safe.

Take care (of yourself and the dogs) and drive safely! You have a lot of friends here on your side!

Well folks getting ready to leave, see you tomorrow. Really worried about this drive.

Nframe357, you got this.... Just remember, if you are tired sleep if you are hungry eat. One foot in front of the other will get you exactly where God wants you to be. What better place than there, right?

Good luck! Take the scenic route,, stop often, take in a few sights.
I-70 is a pretty route..
Make it enjoyable trip, stop and get barbecue in Kansas, make a stop at the spider co-outlet in Colorado, go try the best ham and biscuits in Kentucky,,,, when else can you drive across this beautiful land of ours?
It's nothing fancy but I stayed at three or four Motel 6 on the last trip across the country and never had any issues. They allow pets and it's a good night sleep and a hot shower

Some advice I gave to my brother in a very similar situation.
When you get to where you're going, get busy!
Work long hours, get a hobby, take the dogs hiking, and go to bed early and tired!
Get up early and repeat.
The last thing you need is to sit up late at night with your thoughts,,, and worse booze.
Time is the best healer,,, may as well spend it doing something productive.
Rick

very, very good advice right there.

Prayers sent. Hope your journey is safe for you and your dogs. As others have said, time heals all wounds. I have been there myself. Keep busy and keep your head up.

Just checking in, hope all is smooth and steady going :)

Made it safe and sound thank the good lord after 25 hours in the jeep, dogs are very confused as to what in the world is going on. Get here and there's not enough room for most of my stuff, my folks are in worse condition than I thought, mom barely recognizes me. And they keep it so hot in here i'm sweating. Aaaaaaaargh, why so much at once?

One thing at a time,, you'll be fine. Deal with the day to day.
They keep it hot,,,, it's nice and cool outside in Virginia right now,,, get outside tomorrow and get some fresh air.

Good to hear you made it safe and sound. Like rcb2000 said ^^^ one thing at a time, small steps.

My prayers are yours brother. Stay clean, go talk to a pastor whose wisdom comes from the Lord, your heart will know.
Relative to the folks, remember the commandment "Honour your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you. Exodus 20:12 (NIV)

I've got their backs no question, but wow so much at once. Kind of overwhelming.
