What a night..

I walked into his hospital room last night, just in time to see the cardiologist tell him that they are concerned that he may have a heart problem.....
so his second leg surgery this morning has been postponed until possibly next week...

Praying for a quick recovery. Those damn things cause so much tissue damage that it would be better to have been bit by a rattler I think! Here's hoping he regains the full use of his leg.

Thoses things are nasty. Eric got bit by one when we were on Guam. Will send prayers for your friend. Keep up posted on the results.
 
BTW - thanks for the heads up on pascalite.. his bites happened several years ago, so it's probably a little late for it now. It's amazing that the damage from them is effecting him now, years later.

Here's the update, and I believe the prayers have been working.
He had his second surgery Friday morning afterall (this is good, it means he gets out sooner). And they found a good vein in his leg, which means that they didn't have to open his arm up.

As for his heart, it looks like they have discovered a potential problem before it actually becomes a problem. So, good news there as well.

It looks like he will go home probably Tuesday. Much good news after what was going through our heads earlier this week.

Really good news tonight. His heart is fine! The whole ordeal turned out to be really bad heartburn. The doctor said he is healthy as a horse, with the exception of the vascular problems from the spider bites.
So, no more surgeries (for now).

David-Glad to hear your buddy is doing better. Prayers will continue. Even though those 'hits' may have been a long time ago, I don't know if we ever completely get over them. I had to see one of the docs Friday with the leg. The Black Widow bite is not near as serious as the Recluse, but they have determined that one of the problems I have been having is nerve damage as a result of that bite.
