Prayers for my father

Thanks for the prayers and uplifting comments brothers. As mentioned in an earlier post the bleeding on the brain stopped the day after the fall. He went through surgery and got a plate for one ankle and his tibia yesterday. The surgery went perfectly and he has come through it all. He will be transferred to a local rehab/PT unit and will be there 3-4 weeks before being released. That will actually be good because it will allow me the time required to get my property graded, septic put in, home set up, decks built, patiios......
Looks like I get to knock the dust off my bib and tools... I will be the one doing the decks/aluminum patios and such. I'll get to see if I still got it:) and I'll also get to make some memories with my 7YR old son who will be my lead man...Hah!

Thanks again for the support and prayers it has brought him through the worst of it.

That's great news. Way to keep a positive perspective. It's even more important with your son around.

Still praying.

Sorry to hear about your dad. Sounds like he is through the worst though. It's gonna be busy and trying, but I'm sure you will be able to look back and treasure the time you will have together. It's a labor of love...

Good luck!

I will say some prayers for you. I can sympathize with you as I went through this with my father. You have some long days ahead, but when the dust clears, and you have had some time to heal, things will definitely get better. I make a point to remember the good times that I had with my father and what a good person he was.

Best wishes for you and your family Krypto. I hope it all works out for the very best.

Glad to hear he's doing better. Are ya gonna build the decks old school with a hammer and nails?

Hah! Old school for me is a dewalt and screws. I used to build aluminum screen rooms/patios/roof systems and do some decks, room additions and such. Business slowed down to a crawl here in NC and people are just trying to pay their mortgages. Fancy pool enclosures and patios are just the last thing on peoples to do list these days...
I still actually do some work here and there in construction...since my wife has a pretty long to do list:)

Thanks again for all the prayers and kind words. I just got home from the rehab and it was uplifting. My father is making complete sentences and looks like he is gaining his grasp of who the family is and whats happening. The best part was when he sang Amazing Grace. He has always loved that song and has sung it for everyone at family gatherings and church. I sang the first verse and he just kind of looked puzzled. I sang it again and he finished the song. Then we sang it together and he gave me that smile and light laugh I have been hoping to see since the accident. God bless you all for the support as it has truly lifted me up during this trying time.
