That email brought tears to my eyes. Something about her being sad about not going to Chuck E. Cheese really got to me. I guess it's the reminder that kids can get so much pleasure out of such simple things.

How is the little munchkin doing? Prayers sent for a speedy and uncomplicated recovery.
 
Got an update from my wife today, AshLynn is back home with her family and seems to be doing well. She has a brain shunt that emptied in to her stomach to help remove excessive cerebro-spinal fluid from her skull. A cyst developed at the stomach end of the shunt and had to be surgically removed and the shunt re-routed from her brain to stomach. So far she's doing well. Thanks again for your prayers and thoughts. As a Dad, its really hard to see this happening to a child, especially one so young and happy and full of life.
 
Good to know she's doing well. There was a local story recently about a girl who had a similar setup. Apparently it was an experimental setup that stopped working and she was in tremendous pain, but nobody wanted to fix it (I don't know what happened to the original surgeon). Thankfully, someone stepped up and fixed it for her and she'd doing well. This girl is 20. That's bad enough. I can't imagine a child going through that. I'll continue to keep her in my prayers. Thanks for the update.
