Prayers urgently needed!!

Rob, I'm so sorry to hear this. My wife Harriet was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1993, had chemotherapy and a double mastectomy, and has since had a local recurrence, radiation, and is currently fighting metastases and starting new chemo.

Please let your friend know that there is an incredibly supportive and informative online support community. The BC List, as it's known, has several hundred members and is an unparalleled source of both medical information and personal experiences from others who can answer questions that the doctors cannot. Easiest way to get to it is through this web site, where she can also read archives and sign up for the list if she chooses.

As for you and your wife, know that your support and concern is extremely important to your friend and her family. In particular, realize that breast cancer isn't something that gets cured; she will have to live with its threat for the rest of her life, and it remains a scary beast. Most of all, pray for help and keep asking questions.

Finally, if your friend would like to communicate directly with my wife for any information or whatever, let me know via email and I'll send you her email address and phone number.

Smoke tonight. Sorry, MauiRob. It's all I can do.

Be strong for her. People beat the Big C.

Ad Astra (at a loss) :(

Us cancer victims have to stick together. Smoke (Some special Indian incense I got hold of) going up in 30 seconds.

I can't thank you all enough for your prayers and smoke.

Russ, thank you so much for your help! I will definitely pass on that site and your offer to contact your wife. I don't know what to say...except thank you and I will keep you and your wife in my prayers as well.

We find out at 3pm today what the deal is... I'm glad i'm at work and can think of other things. My wife is home alone with the kids and isn't so lucky.
