Serrated edges aren't too terrible to sharpen. If you are having trouble, use this little tip: lots of cussing and yelling.

Jivers, you need to figure out what your knife will be used for before you declare a "winner". If you will be cutting a lot of things like hose, cable, rope, or fibrous materials on a regular basis, then a serrated or combo edge is the better choice. If you only use your knife mainly to open envelopes or boxes like most people here, then a plain edge is plenty sufficient.Well it looks like plain edge wins...
