O.K. I was wondering what handle preference everyone has . Do you like the straight handle Busse's or the E handles better?

Since I have only handled the E and Fusion-handled models (so far), I gotta say Fusion... :D

Oh damn, now you guys have done it...Now I have to go look and see what the hell fusion handles look like...

I kind of prefer the fusion. :D

For the record - what type does the Hell Razor have? I have seen them - but what style would that be considered? Fusion - like the Satin Jack?

I was just wondering that myself because they look a lot like the handles I just looked at on Fusion models except the curve is more pronounced at the end...

I can never make up my mind. I'm actually not totally sold on any of them. I've got large hands and that may be part of the problem. The Fusion handle does seem to leave more leeway for choking up or the opposite. The Ergo I like except I found the edges kind of sharp and had to round them off. Haven't felt the Old Straight. The SF is okay but smallish and the Mag version doesn't solve the problem for reasons unknown. The EU may be my favorite. It's a fairly nice grip with a steep angle to the blade.

Fusion
Ergo
Old Straight
SF
EU
Mag or Regular

Special forces handle, I think. . .

Yes! you win the cookie..Just saw a picture of SF Natural Outlaw...exact same handles..

Thanks for clearing that up Rat...

I personally prefer the Fusion-Magnum on my FSH... lovely control... very secure in the hand. :D

The Straight Handle Steel Heart is my all-time favorite, regarding handle shape and balance. I am struggling between it and the FSH...

That's why I still have both!

Oh yeah, the HOGFSH with snakeskin feels a lot like a 'heavy' SHSH... so I really can't make up my mind...

Just make it ' Steel Heart' and I'll be happy.... :D

I have only handled the Satin Jack TAC, HH FSH and the ST Ripper. The Fusion is the best chopping handle I could imagine and the ST Ripper is the most comfortable for a fighter or WSK. The SJT is still, in my opinion, the fastest and most versatile. If I could only choose one though, it would be the ST Ripper (not sure what the handle style is).

You can call the skull crusher "silly" all day long. Just as long as it's on every knife I own;) . I use mine all the time, especailly while working on the property. I am looking forward to it's use in skinning this year.

How do you use it? If I try to drive the knife into something by putting my palm on the pommel and using my weight...the "skull crusher" only gets in th way.

I can see your point, but it has not been a problem for me. An SJT might be rough after some long usage as you describe. I use misc. hand tools all day, so I imagine the skull crushers bother me less because of the abuse my hands get day to day. That, and I generally use mine in pummelling and prying items loose. In skinning, I think the rough and dull angles will help in working the hide off. Definitely works in the kitchen well.

i like the basic handles (the larger 7 and 9 versions)

but have to say that i prefer overall the new tac handles and the fusion handles.

I prefer the E-Handle. My personal favorite knife is a SH-E.

It is function boiled down to it's most beautiful and simplistic state.
