Preferences on Blade & Handle Color?

Ahhh - I though there was a problem with stripping the coating if the handle was G10. That's what 4 or 5 measures of scotch does for my thinking processes :D

I much prefer micarta (canvas or linen) too, for the same reasons mentioned, although G10 does look real good in black and tan.

I really like all the earth tones. Muddy/tan, Tan/Tan, Green/Tan, Sage/Tan are probably my favorite. I really like a knife that is not too flashy.

I do have two orange/black little'uns. (they get a lot of city carry). One with glow in the dark inserts in case I drop it. But truth be told, they would both be cooler in muddy/tan

I got my first black/black micarta one, an Ash1. I browned the scales with shoe polish. I think eventually that one will get stripped.

I have to say, that in person the black micarta is much more appealing to me than it ever is in pictures.

When I first started buying Busse's I really liked the g-10, but as I aquire more I am becoming more and more a micarta kind of guy!! Like Tony-G says as long as you have micarta slabs you can always strip it and have a sweet blade!!

For me best combo is satin finish and hand shaped tigerhide linen micarta. Unfortunately that's the expensive one... :grumpy:

There are so many nice ones but OD and green linen especially appeals to me. Satin and black micarta is always nice too.

How about hand shaped micarta vs machine cut ? The machine cut looks like it might be easier to grip, but the hand shaped looks more comfortable. The black/tan G10 is interesting stuff because with the machine cut you get that electric looking pattern and with the hand shaped you get that random oil on water pattern.

I really liked the older tan that they used, with either tan canvas micarta. It has a "sandpaper" like feel to it. Other than that I prefer either black or nekkid with tan canvas.
