Ide look for Ray Laconico designed models. He does a lot of nice front flippers.

Ray Laconico designed some of my favorite knives (including flippers). Other thumb-stud front-flippers include the WE Evoke and the more budget-minded Civivi Sokoke (pictured below). I've seen the Sokoke called a "budget Esprit" but there are obvious differences. (One that I don't like is the clip recess for lefties. I know lefties need love but what was wrong with just having the screw holes?)

For a smaller Laconico design with thumb studs, the Kizer Yorkie is neat.

I've been meaning to try one of these. Models that interest me are sold out so it's just a waiting game.
Yeah with so many models and variants it can be hard to track down the oe you want. Which models are you looking for? I've seen some floating around at dealers.

I'm in between a few. The Trapper or Texas Trapper make sense to me. It's just a matter of finding the right one. I'm also on the fence for a Caballero.

The Apache looks interesting but the pair of corners at the rear of the butt make me think twice. (The roundness of the Trapper here appeals to me.) As with the Raptor, I feel like I'd need to get it in hand to know if I will like it. I hate exploring the return process with different dealers in the case that I don't.
