This is for all of the sniveling brats that are complaining

$30 is nothing compared to what I have learned from this site. I have sold knives here and I am suprised that it took this long to set up a fee. I don't understand why everyone is bitching. Let me use an analogy or two:

Would you let a stranger come stay in your house, eat your food, use your bathroom and then bitch when asked to pay pocket change to cover the cost? No, you would be very offended wouldn't you?

OR

Just think about someone walking into your work place and asking you to do your job for free. I am sure you would laugh at them!!

As I see it, this issue is no different. We have used these forums for free for the past 3 years. So a modest fee is not unreasonable. And if you do not want to pay, then that just should your lack of class, ethics, and values. It also shows your immaturity (sp?). No one owes you anything. Grow up.

And don't tell me you can't afford the money. Just think about the next time you go out for a friday or saturday night. Most times people spend more than that and they have nothing to show for it. ($20 for dinner for 2, $14 for movies, $5 for drink/popcorn). $30 is nothing for a year membership. I understand that some people may be truly strapped for money, but that is not most of us. Especially when we are buying $100+ knives. And the only forums that is going to cost is the FS. The others are still free.

Also I don't see any of you going and starting your own site. To me the $30 is cheaper than the $100,000+ that this site has already cost Mike/Spark/others.

What address do I send the Money Order to? :D

As far as I'm concerned, charge everyone $30.00 per year, it would not hurt my feelings as I am willing to pay $30.00 per year.

What continues to elude me is that people simply think everything is free in this world. The Internet is not free, if you have a free ISP and it is not an absolute Port-A-Potty Unit, God Bless You!

You cannot even get a decent folding knife for $30.00, come'on. In some places in the country, you cannot fill the gas tank on a mid-sized car with $30.00

In short, $30.00 is not the end of the World.

This place has never been "free" folks, someone has always had to pay for it. That "someone" being Mike Turber and now Kevin.

If you think this is a Late-Night Television "Get Rich Quick" scheme, you're sadly mistaken. Kevin's life is not going to change much except that this place will become self-sufficient, or at least more self-sufficient, and sure, that will be money he does not spend which means more money in his pocket. As it should be, he is a Businessman. Damn...hahahahaha

To those that are offened and wish to jump ship and post solely at knifeforums, that's cool too. Enough of you go over there, and guess what will happen? The site will bog down, which will mean the Owner will have to upgrade, which means the Owner will have to find the money to do so, which means...finish the statement. Use your imagination.

No doubt. I can't wait for the ignore list feature. I'd pay an extra $30 just for that. Bye bye trolls, idiots, liberals, and all the whining bitches that think a year of this forum isn't worth the price of a tank of gas-I can't see you:cool:

Sure. Time to find a snail mail address and send in some $$. I'm in.

I have never sold a knife here, though I have bought a few. :D Spark and BFC deserve my support, whatever some other folks seem to think. So I'll be sending money. Where is an address? I need to look it up.

I wasn't complaining, just stating my opinion. Nice knowing you guys. I'll find somewhere else to play.

Each friendship I have made here is worth more than $30, if friendships could be measured that way.The knowledge and fun I derive from this forum would be worth any reasonable amount of money. I ante'd up last time and am waiting for the instructions to do it again. Spark, thanks for the opportunity to participate!

Many years ago, when I was a young and stupid ad executive, I spent $250 a year for the "privilege" of showing off with a Platinum American Express Card (tm). Now that I am an old and stupid writer, I will gladly pay $30 (or whatever is decided) a year to continue my "education" at BladeForums State. Rah, rah, rah!

Hey Sparky, please (with a cherry and all) can we pay up via paypal when the time comes? Money orders gouge from here
