Presentation Boxes

I am making carving sets for my two daughters (Christmas - so I have some time). I have been searching for a source for "presentation" boxes. Wood would be great, a nice, heavy cardboard etc. would suffice.

I was hoping someone on the forum might have a source for such a thing. Obviously, I can't spend the rest of my daughters' college fund on them, so cost must be reasonable.

Thanks for your help.

I'm sure someone here has some good sources of presentation boxes but I'm gonna throw out something a little different. Have you looked at wine boxes? They are usually made of lighter wood and should be easily converted for knives.

Almost every gun show or knife show has a fellow selling the glass topped presentation boxes. Some knife suppliers sell them, too. Google and Ebay have a lot of hits on "Presentation Boxes".

Google Cardboard Gift Boxes, and you will get many hits. Boxco and Bags & Bows are two I deal with. It will be a far lower price to buy in quantity.

The world is littered with woodworkers, and many are retired doing it for fun.

Find a woodworking club near you and ask there.

I'm sure you can find something nicer than a retail offering at a reasonable price.

A friend of mine sells really need wooden cigar boxes that he makes into presentation boxes, purses and functioning guitars on Etsy. I believe there are others that do the same. Alternatively, if you'd rather do it yourself using these, I believe you can buy a lot on Amazon of different sizes, and I believe they are very reasonably priced.

Outside of that I'm not sure. Could always buy some exotic wood and make some? Are these wood carvers? Turkey carvers?

What he said! Give your local woodworkers some love! :)
