I'm not a "mom" but I do own firearms. I was sent this email to give support. I know this is off the subject of the forum, but I thought would be interested anyway.

There will be a "Million Mom March" on DC to support tougher gun laws.
This group is putting together a counter march to happen at the same time. If you can't go, please consider helping in some other way.

This is the latest on the march:
First of all, thanks to each one of you for taking the
time to write to us and for your dedication to
preserving our Second Amendment. The mail list is
becoming too long to reply personally to each of you
who has written, so we apologize.
The time has come for Washington and every legislator
in every state to understand that American women will
not tolerate further degradation of our Constitution.
One million women promoting gun control cannot and
will not represent the millions of us who believe in
and support our right to bear arms.
We are in the very early days of putting a plan
together and hope to have something more definite
within the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, the
only form of advertising we have is you. Please help
spread the word. Encourage your friends to write. We
cannot do this without a massive outpouring of
support. This march belongs to ALL of us and we need
you!
The deadline for deciding whether or not we can make a
real showing in a counter march is the end of January.
If we have real numbers by then, we will proceed. We
must outnumber the gun control crowd in order to
properly represent the fact that we also outnumber
them across the country. A small rally is not an
option this time around.
Each of you can be a local coordinator in your area.
You won't be called on to perform anything
extraordinary -- talk to the people you already see
every day, take names, tell us what's going on in your
area. If you are interested, please send us an email
and include your city, county and state. In the
subject line of your email please enter "Local
coordinator." If you have friends and relatives who
are not on the internet, ask them if you can send
their name and address to us. At least let us know
about them so they can be added to our numbers.
Since the counter march thread began three days ago on
Free Republic, each day the email has doubled from the
day before. We are now getting responses from women
who have received emails from other women. It's
working! Five minutes of your day to send emails or
talk to friends is indeed a small sacrifice. What we
stand to lose is the ultimate sacrifice. We cannot
pass on a legacy of tyranny to our children and
grandchildren.
