I am new here and new to knife making. I am just trying my hand at a few things after building a kit that I got for Christmas. I bought a couple of cheap blades from a local knife store and some handles from a web site. i am trying to put a pair of curley maple scales and this blade had a lot of holes for the rivets. 8 of them. While sanding with 220 after forming the scales with a couple of files, I noticed the pins are coming above the wood. I understand that the wood sands faster than the metal, but hos do i get around that?
Thanks, Ted
