Hey BF,

I have some knives I was hoping to sell. Some knives aren't in the BEST shape. Like, as I posted in a different thread I broke the tip off my Zero Tolerance 0620. I also have a dull Benchmade Griptilian 553bk, and a small ship on a blade on a SOG Zoom. I am willing to OFC sell for a lesser price since a small amount of work will be required to get them "perfect". Would you guys think it is more financially viable to sell for a discounted price, or fix them up and sell for more value? I can upload photos, to get a more accurate pricing if you want?

Are you selling the Benchmade Griptilian because it's dull?? wat

Not a big fan of the tanto blade, serrations and also the FRN handles are meh. I could send it in to Benchmade for a new blade(different), but that would be $40 for a new blade and probably get charged shipping so like another $20 or so. Meaning it would cost me close to 50% of the original value of the knife. So I doubt it would be fiscally viable.

I would recommend posting photos for a more accurate price. ZT charges $30 for a new blade.

I believe he wants to know the going price for the knife, and the condition of the blade affects the price.

Can you help him out?
Well Marcinek, to speak my truth, I am not knowledgeable in this field. Personally I think a dull blade should not affect knife price, but a chipped one should.

Actually neither you nor marcinek should be posting in this thread at all, per the BF rules:

To the OP - if the repairs or cleanup are minor, then you would do better to fix the issues yourself (while still representing the actual condition of the knife truthfully). If they need some work, then you'll need to reduce the price accordingly below normal market value for a new condition knife.

If a knife just needs normal sharpening due to regular non-abusive use, but is in otherwise good mechanical and cosmetic appearance, just that that in your description and adjust the price to reflect "used, carried, needs to be sharpened." For the BM, you could send it into BM first for their sharpening services and just list it as "factory re-sharpened" in your sales ad.

You'll find out pretty quickly whether you are pricing your knives too high if they don't sell in the first couple of days.

Sorry I did not know. Won't happen again.

I just really don't enjoy shipping items internationally. ZT and Benchmade are both based in the US so shipping costs and time/paper work are super annoying. Maybe because I haven't done it before but still. lol

I dont know if you are correct. I read that differently. I'm going to take the question to Tech Support once I get caffeinated! :)

Me too, this is how I read it:

You can't start a post asking such a question, or ask such a question in a post in any thread started by someone else.

Why would it be a problem to help someone out who actually did pay?

Lets find out! I'm off to Tech Support!

@Chopper88 and Marcinek. You can check that out.. but no need to post that on my thread. As the posts are off topic and derail the discussion of the thread.
