Price check on blank profiles, alternatives?

Wow, you have my respect and sympathies ... D2 and hand filing/hand sanding is a real task. When you said you wanted batches of blanks cut, I assumed you were making batches of knives. Nothing wrong with your plan, I just didn't see the comment that you were not using power tools and misunderstood.
Some of first knives I make are from M2 HSS steel .......i hand grind bevels only with scythe stone .................:D

How much steel are you removing?

Would this design be a good candidate for plasma?

should be fine. I did these a little while ago.

Just plasma cut them to size. Then my customers can use carbide burrs to clean them up further.

If you are set up to do multiple blades I would venture you can do hardened blanks. The most you would need to ad is a Kool-Mist system. Most folks are surprised how much time and belts it save in the long run hardening profiled banks.

I use these guys.

Even cheaper if you want to wait from aliexpress since it all comes from china anyway.

My reservoir is an old windshield washer fluid container. I did buy the kool mist additive. It makes ALL the difference. It's a must have IMO.

I use it to wet sand when I am doing handles as well lol! Works great!

If working by hand, why on earth choose D2?

Haha. I just mean why not something else of good quality that's also easy to grind, like AEB-L?
