[SUP][/SUP]I've been eyeing some of the nice new offerings from GEC recently, so to free up a little money I'm offering one of my older Hen & Rooster knives up for sale. This is a beautiful example of the Pre-1980 craftsmanship at H&R that really set them apart from the rest of the pocketknife world in that time. The quality of these knives is excellent - comparable to custom makers in the $300 range today. The eased edges of the bolsters and inlay makes for comfortable pocket carry, and even the insides of the liners are polished.

The knife is in excellent, unused and un-resharpened(?) condition. There are some rub marks on the minor blades and the tip of the main blade from contact with each other, and some light directional marks on the blades and bolsters which appear to be wipe down marks. I've tried to take these pictures in the an unappealing light for disclosure.

AG Russell's description of the knife on his website:

"Knife Collectors Club™ CM-5

The .44 Magnum Whittler, released in 1975, is one of only two knives made for the Knife Collector's Club by Hen & Rooster and marked A. G. Russell. The other was the CM-4 Baby Barlow. All other KCC knives made by Hen & Rooster were marked with the hen and rooster on the mark side of the main blade and Bertram on the reverse.
This Whittler has a 3" clip point main blade and 1-3/4" sheepfoot and pen blades, all of mirror polished high carbon German stainless. The inlay of a .44 Magnum cartridge is set into African Blackwood handle scales. The main blade is marked A. G. Russell on the obverse side and on the reverse side *Germany* CM-5. Measures 3-1/2" closed and weighs 2.3 oz. Made in Germany.

Plain nickel silver bolsters"

This is #686 in the run. I'll let this go for $85 $95 SOLD including PP and shipping inside the US. For trades, I'd like to stay in the traditional realm, particularly with GEC's in the < 3.75" range. Those really get me.

PM or email me with any questions.

Steve
