Andre De Villiers Ronin Prototype: Acquired from a BF member who in turn acquired it at Blade 2023. I have not cut, carried or sharpened and, by all measures, neither did the original owner. This multi-grind tanto is not for the faint of heart, weighing in at 7.16 ounces with a blade length of 4 1/8 inches of S35VN, a handle of 5 3/8 inches and an overall length of 9 3/8 inches. A prototype for the button lock version of the Ronin, this comes in an ADV zipper pouch and is dated January of 2023. The blade on this button lock is nicely centered, has a “wave opening” feature, flips open with authority and releases via the button lock.
