Bark River Tanto, 1st Production Run, 52-100 steel, ebony wood handle, BR leather sheath, no box. Circa approx 2009.

Blade Length: 8.8"
OAL: 14.25"
Weight: 11oz

I'm the second owner on this one. I bought it for fun and admired it for a while, never used it. Previous owner sent it in to Bark River for a spa treatment. Razor sharp, no use since it got back. Some very small pits in the blade that BR didn't remove. There is a small scratch on the top of the handle, pretty minor, no cracks. I tried to show the small pepper spots on the blade in the last two pics. NBD in my opinion. This is a large, well balanced, impressive piece of steel.

Asking $165, now $150 shipped. Paypal F&F preferred or add 3.5% for goods. No trades at this time.
I'm trying to save up for an upcoming release, so if you think my price is too high, make me an offer! I'd like to clear out some space in the safe.

FYI: That's not patina on the blade, just frog-lube and fingerprints, shining in the lights ;)

FWIW, I found one old write-up on this knife from a site. Hope they don't mind me borrowing it for a little background on this particular Bark River. I didn't know much about it when I first bought it.

"The Custom 2009 Limited Edition Japanese Style Tanto is an instant classic! The Bark River Custom Tanto represents the best of what can be achieved when form, function, and design elegance all come together. The eastern influence and training the master knife maker Mike Stewart has shines through on these beauties. Accept no imitations - these are an authentic Japanese Tanto done only the way Bark River Knives can do them.

The blade is a traditional Japanese style (8.8" blade made of premium 52-100 Tool steel at 58RC) and the handle is ergonomically designed to give a sure, comfortable grip regardless of how you pick the knife up. The handle is comfortable in both forward and reverse grip. The knife is lightning quick in the hand and it's mass is in the center so changing direction of the point is easily accomplished. This is a VERY limited run of 120 pieces, each hand made and hand ground. This beauty measures 14 1/4 inches overall and weighs 10 ounces. History and Practicality--all in one package.

The African Ebony wood handle is available on our full exposed tang models, and includes 11 nickel silver pins. African Ebony is one of the most handsome yet durable handle materials available. Handle includes nickel silver Bolster w/ Lanyard hole. The New Sharpshooter Sheath Systems Leather belt sheath is included. This brown top grain leather sheath is custom made and will provide a safe, comfortable solution for carry.

Specs:
Blade Steel: 52-100 Tool Steel
Hardness: 58RC Blade
Thickness: .160 inches
Blade Length: 8.80 inches
Overall Length: 14.25 inches
Weight: 10 ounces
Construction: Full Exposed Tang"

Thanks for quick reply - I'm at VA hosp doing chemo will get back as soon as I can - thanks again,Guy

I've been seaching for this knife since finished chemo - at 72 yrs I'm a little slow - do you have this knife?

Thank you for responding after all this time - how much are you asking for the knife?

Sure. I"m not using it and I'd rather it go to a good home where someone will appreciate it!
It has developed a few small black spots on the blade over the years. I'll take some pics to show you. If you still want it, how does $125 sound?

The little orange fuzzies everywhere are strands from the inside of the leather sheath. I oiled this blade and put it up about 2 years ago and haven't touched it since.
