OAL: 8 1/2". New: never carried, sharpened, or used.
The blade is the Helle Viking. Laminated carbon steel. It has "...an outer layer of tough steel for durability, and a hard inner core (HRC 58-59) for superior edges.," according to ragweedforge.com . Thickness: .160". Blade length: 4 1/2". It came with the black still on it, from the heat treat, but I buffed some of that off with steel wool. Factory edge is impressively sharp. One picture shows a little smudge near the spine. That was just Sno-Seal.
I installed the blade slightly rotated, by accident. I photographed this defect by aiming the camera directly at the cutting edge. I think the knife will still function perfectly, once you get used to the slight angle.
The handle contains a little bit of everything. Myrtle burl on the sides, pear wood in the center, black limba and fiber spacer at the front. There is a dowel running through it. The white dots are marine epoxy. There are some divots in the handle, which are filled with epoxy. I shaped it for my own hand, which is in between a men's glove size Small and Medium.
The sheath is made of the thicker grade of kydex. The buckle, ring, and strap are from REI camping store. There are some divots in the Kydex, but they are on the back side.
