Well I'm doing it - selling my Southard - making financial room for a new knife. Can't keep them both :(

$ 162.00 delivered including all fees.

PRICE DROP OPTION - $155.25 DELIVERED paid with money order or PP "friends & family"

U.S. Sales ONLY on the option Outside US sales will incur additional costs.

• I am the original owner - I changed out the scale to this naturally weathered teak (bandsaw from an old table top). My first time doing this so it is not perfect (screw holes are a bit deeper than I would prefer) but looks and feels great and fit the perimeter very well. Please note - I did not carve out the extra wood at the spydie hole as it is on the brown scale. Means it is mostly a flipper. (See note below)

• Comes with box and papers and original brown scale all in high excellent condition.

• It is a well cared for user - sharp and unblemished. Only used as a gentleman's carry.

• Lock up and centering are excellent - NO blade play

• The flip - PLEASE NOTE - it's not great, certainly does not fire "like a rocket" - never has. Needs gravity or a bit of wrist flick to open. Better in the dry winter air than in the high summer humidity. My short and somewhat arthritic fingers don't make this easier. Still, I use the flipper not the hole to open it. I think some would find this to be fine but if you are a perfectionist this is not the knife for you.

If this was just intended to open with the hole I would give it an A+ but as a flipper it gets a C+.

PLEASE POST IN THREAD - that you will take it - AND send PM follow up so that I can send PayPal info.

If you can't PM - please leave your email address here in the thread and I will reply.

PayPal goods - it protects you and me. Other arrangements for payments can be made depending on your iTrader rating.

PM for questions or to request more photos.

Thanks for looking.

Just my luck that there were 2 other Southards on this page yesterday afternoon

Both users- one went for $ 170.00 and the other is now at $ 160.00. Mine is just in between price wise and just as in pristine condition as the other 2, + it has a customized naturally weathered teak scale in addition to the original pristine brown G-10.

I admit that the flick is less than stellar but as the knife came this way (and I have read quite a few posts reporting the same issue) I have used it and adapted. It does flick - not just into perfect lock up - for me. Someone with a stronger finger might find this a non issue. Using the hole it is a non issue - it opens very smoothly and easily by Spyderco standards. Just could not sell without full disclosure.

Worth another look!
