I am the first owner of both knives. Making some hard collection choices at the moment.
Absolutely gorgeous knife from South Africa by La Combre. Very high level of fit and finish, centered, tight, nice strong pull (I can pinch it) with crisp snaps in the walk and talk. It has a half stop. From longest tip to tip this is about 4 inches closed but the curved ends make it feel a little shorter then that in hand. I have owned several of Tim's knives and they all punch way above his price point in terms of quality.
Scales are camphor burl wood with red spacers, 316 liners and bolsters, and the blade is N690 stainless steel. The bead is a matching camphor burl. Some neat detail work on the spine as well. Knife is unused. Pricing this well below what I paid at $225.00, Now $185.00, I cover Paypal and shipping.
Another from Tim at La Combre that should interest those that like the smaller knives. 2.5 inches closed, N690 stainless blade, scales are copper and brass liners that he intentionally aged to achieve this cool look. Matching copper bead. Brut de forge on blade. Like the other one it has some cool file detail work on the spine. This little guy has a strong snap but is designed to be pinched open. Knife is unused. Again pricing below what I paid, Asking $150.00, Now $108.00, I cover Paypal and shipping.
Thank you for looking. Also have this knife for sale please see previous thread
