I don’t know if there’s much of a market for optics here on Bladeforums, but I figure there should be some hunters and outdoors types around, so I’ll give it a try.

Quality field optics looking for a new home. All are unused, other than testing out the optics at home. Prices are net to me including shipping to the US – i.e. you cover PP fees, send PP gift, MO or check. Not looking for trades at present.

Discounts available for multiple purchases reflecting the lower shipping costs (I also have some Bussekin knives, and Survive! & Carrothers Performance Knives here http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...beautiful-custom-SAR8?p=16832548#post16832548 and here http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...ormance-Knives-all-3V?p=16832562#post16832562).

First to post I’ll take it, gets it. Follow up with an email for payment details.

Zeiss Conquest HD 10x32. Brand new, as received from US retailer. These are a really excellent pair of mid-size binoculars, that give little away to the top-of-the-range Zeiss and Swarovski mid-size models costing around $2,000.
You’ll find lots of reviews of the Zeis Conquest HD models on the web. There are more reviews of the 8x32 than the 10x32, as they are more popular with birders, but the 10x magnification is great for hunters or for any viewing at distance. Zeiss are also marketing these as being close to indestructible (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qri4RuT7Bk), and in any event, they are of course covered by Zeiss’ excellent transferable warranty. $710 (they sell online for $950 in the US).

Pentax PF-80ED spotting scope (straight). When this scope came out a few years ago, it was hailed as the best spotting scope that could be bought (see http://betterviewdesired.com/Pentax-80mm-Ed-Spotting-Scope.php). Nowadays, there are even better scopes out there, but you’re looking at around $3,000 to buy one.
This sale is for the scope only – it needs an eyepiece. It is designed to accept any 1.25” astronomical eyepiece. My recommendation would be to use one of the Pentax XW (extra-wide) eyepieces to get the best out fo the optics. I had a Pentax XW10 (which gives a magnification of around 50x, and can be bought for around $270 on Amazon) fitted into this and compared it directly against the new Vortex Razor HD 27-60x85 spotting scope. The Vortex is supposed to be the reference for mid-priced scopes, but the Pentax with the fixed magnification still beat it for resolution, and gave little away on field of view, even when the vortex was set at its lowest magnification. Pentax also sell a range of cheaper and smaller XF eyepieces, but you are short-changing the optics in the sope if you don’t pair it with one of their legendary XW eyepieces.
I’ve had this for a while, but it has just sat in its stay-on case, and only been tested through the window of my home. The scope itself is in perfect condition. I have an 80mm UV filter that I’ll throw in. It attaches to the front of the scope and can be used to protect the front lens, but my recommendation is not to use it unless you’re in an environment or around other users where you’re really worried about damage – there’s no point investing in world-class precision optics to then view them through an additional glass element. $520

Zen Ray ED3 8x43 binoculars. If you’re looking for binoculars with maximum performance to price ratio, and you’ve never heard of or tried Zen Ray, then you owe it to yourself to do so. I believe its an American Company, although it has its optics made in China and Japan. See http://www.zen-ray.com/shop/binoculars/zened3-8x43.html for full details of this model. Really, really brilliant optics for the price.
I have looked through these a couple of times out the window, but they’ve never left my house. $325.

Bushnell Legend Ultra HD 10x25 binoculars. If you want the lightest, most compact 10x binoculars and the best performance-price ratio you can find, these are your best pick (if you think there is something better on those criteria, let me know!). $120

Hi, I am very interested in the $75 monocular, but I would like to know more info. Is it good enough to do some amateur astronomy from the beach at night? I donʻt know anything about monoculars but I would like to be able to see galaxies and star clusters not able to be seen from the naked eye. Are these good enough within reason to be able to see some of them? haha kinda weird question but i really donʻt know much about them, only that I want to get into it. Is this a good entry level monocular for astronomy? I have perfect vision in one eye but am near sighted in the other, so I am more interested in monoculars than binoculars. If this monocular will let me get a entry level view of the night sky then I will buy them ! please let me know. thank you.

Edit: been doing some research and it seems they are okay for what I want, so i will buy them if they are still available.

Also, any info or tips/learning material you might wanna give me about this monocular would be very much appreciated. :D
