I've been feeling price fatigue lately. The enjoyment of this hobby is waning in regards to new purchases because of the ridiculous prices. I'm happy that good knife companies are profiting but dang its exhausting on the buyers end. I seem to have mostly what I want/need and I'm glad I'm not starting out in this hobby. We have so many good knives to choose from but the prices are higher than they're worth in most cases. It seems unwise to pay such a premium whether you can afford it or not. I got an email from MKC for a 3.25" liner lock for $390. Nice design but $390?? Thats pure insanity in my opinion. Thankfully there are some good deals here on the exchange.

Somewhat of a rant and I'm sure I will continue to purchase over priced knives, but certainly not like I used to. Its just not as fun as it used to be.

Anyone feel it too? I would like to hear about some good deals made recently.

Some good deals I got here on the exchange. All like new.

Unfortunately true.....since we are seeing costs 3 times as expensive (because of politics), really a $390 knife was only 130 bucks a few years ago ...... If, it wasn't $130 a few years ago, than just maybe 390 is not enough.....

A $130 knife from a few years ago, what kind of knife was that? Maybe a Becker Kephart?

What do they go for Now?
 
I just spent $45 dollars at the grocery store.. mixed greens package, small package of ground turkey, brick of cheap espresso and tortillas. Gas is $6.50 per gallon..

I still catch myself trying to justify buying knives I don’t need and will probably never carry.
 
I just purchased a $150 hat from Italy. The Epstein class hit me with $80 in tarrifs to get it into the country. They have flooded our country with $2 Chinese plastic our whole lives
but now we're pimped $80 to purchase something good quality from an actual allied country.

Electric and gas are on the rise due to prioritizing data centers and foreign wars instead of Unites States citizens.
Its probably time to cut back on microtechs.

We got married in Vegas, Years ago.....
Got married in a hot air balloon.
We didn't plan or pick out our outfits for it, we wore what we wore.... I had a green floral shirt, and my wife had a semi-matching green dress.
It happened that she bought it on sale from Fleet & Farm (it's like a Tractor Supply sort of store) she got the dress for $5
 
I don't think the knife companies are necessarily making a lot more money, their costs have gone up and they're passing that along. Every CNC machine brand has significantly raised their prices recently due to higher production costs, and the interest rates associated with buying a machine are high. A lot of materials have gone up in price, especially if they're being snapped up by the defense industry. Aluminum has spiked pretty high, for instance. And carbide has also gone up a lot, which you need to cut these materials, even more if it's hard materials like blade steel.
