What is the price guide everyone goes by ? I collected other things and noticed there are several price guides but most people only go by like 1 or 2 of them . So what one should i buy ? Any help would be great !
Thanks

The standard has always been Levine's Guide To Knives and Their Values. Unfortunately, the latest edition was not done by Mr. Levine. The wide perception in the community is that the values given in the new edition are off quite a bit in many cases. The last edition editted by Mr. Levine is to old to be very accurate any more

The other big problem is that collectibles across the board are in the proverbial toilet along with the rest of the economy. So, the guides in just about any field, coins, art of all kinds, cars, sports trinkets, stocks and bonds, whatever you might collect, are all pretty much wrong these days.

Along with Levines Guide to Knives and Their Values, books 1-4, I also like the Official Price Guide to Collector Knives, 13th Ed by C. Houston Price.

The reason that I like Bernard Levine's books are that he tends to give more general pricing infermation. He will list companies and tell you whether their knives have a high, medium or low value. Even if knife values have not held up well in these poor economic times, these general appraisals still apply. He also gets more detailed with many knives which is also of great benefit.
