Price hike 2019, 10% or 5%

Some online retailers do just that. Some also send out "private" emails offering deals on certain models. Those prices aren't actually advertised on the site, and you have to sign up in order to receive the emails. There was another site that had Spyderco models on sale, but you had to add to cart to see the sale price. This was within the past couple of months. There are deals to be found, but you have to do some work to find them.

As for asking an online dealer to sell at a lower price, I have not done that, but I have seen a couple members on this site claim to have asked for a discount and they were successful.

Agree.

If your wages / salary increase 5-10%, why worry ?

Not in relation to the OP but I smile when I see someone try to save $5, 10, 20 but spend an hour doing it yet if they put their mind to it could earn $25-50 in an hour or two.

My household probably pays more than $50 per hour in taxes lol.

Not an affordability issue for me. It's the artificial price hikes.
