Price limit?

Generally I stay under $300 these days. It used to be $500-600 but I found I didn't really enjoy them enough to justify the extra $$,I wouldn't take them out of the house or use them. After a while I got tired of being afraid of messing up a knife and sold off my higher end stuff. My fav EDC is a Emerson CQC-7V $225 with a Pete Gray Ti thumbdisc, not afraid to beat it like a redheaded step child so it brings me a lot more pleasure. Most of my collection now is under $200 and I enjoy them all because I USE THEM!

The most expensive knife I ever spent is a Busse's custom. around $900.

Now $400-800 Is my price range. Last month I spent for many knife in that range Wilson Eagle, SMF DGG, Burt Foster Combat#4, Startaczaan, Snody Overlord and some hand forge custom.

Depends on which knife it is. There's this one knife that I want really bad, and is like the elusive unicorn. I am willing to spend $2000 on it if I ever find one for sale but that is my absolute limit on a knife.

For years I had a $100 price limit. If I couldn't find it for that then I just didn't buy it. Then I found BladeForums...... Soon after my limit went up to $200... And Um... Now I just bought my first Sebenza.

The most I have ever spend was $3850 . Would I have spend more? Sure why not if I make money I spend money. If I don't make money than I don't buy stuff it's that simple:)
The question is would we buy more expensive stuff if we had more money? I think we would. So the limit on how much we spend is not about what we like but it is about what we like and what we can afford it .

dude I'm totally about to do the same tired of looking at money on the shelves collecting dust.

Most spent on a knife is $455.00 average price is $200.00 to $400.00 I like custom bucks and Yellowhorse knifes,
If I had the cash I would probably go up to $2000.00. right now now my taste aren't that expensive right now I,m saving for a Randall made ( hopefully by next spring) lived around Orlando most of my life and since I saw them when I was a teenager dreamed of owning one.

Most spent on a knife was a lot, can't remember exactly. Been EDC some cool stuff these past few years, but struggling to see how my CQC 6 is a better EDC than one of my good spydercos, for example. Just be a lot more painful to lose the CQC6, so maybe I need to sell it and turn the money into a few more edc's.

I've had lots of limits but since they are self imposed they are also subject to change. I used to think $200 was a lot of money to spend on a knife. Then I started looking at customs and realized that I really like them over production. No they don't cut any better but that's not why I collect them. I think the most I've paid for one knife is around $1500 but my normal range is between $500-$1000.

Most of my knives were under $50. $100 is my upper limit, with a steep resistance curve starting as it gets above $70. The one exception to those rules is the 2013 Bladeforums Traditional knife that was $130. But that was a one-time thing and I'm unlikely to repeat that.

I spent $750.00 on a couple knives in the past and would go more. They are both worth $2500.00 now so I am not shy about how much I spend for an investment knife. For something I am going to use $500.00.

My normal limit is in the $200 range but I have spent as much as $400 on rare occasions.

I'm in the $150 crowd.
I think the most I have invested in any of my EDC knives is $155 or so. After that the cost:benefit ratio starts to dwindle for me. There are sooooo many options in the 100-150 range that I don't see myself bumping it up any time soon. I do like a lot of the ZT and Spyderco offerings in the 170-200 range, but if I'm patient I can get those in my range, or trade for them and save some money that way.

I have been really wanting a small Sabenza, I would splurge just to try one out. Don't see it happening soon though. But you never know.

My limit is right around the price of a CRK folder, but I've spent more a couple of times. I generally only have one knife in that price point at any one time, as I don't do well with high-end knives that aren't in my pocket every day.

Most of my knives are in the $75-$150 range. However, I did spend $420 on a Brian Tighe Mini Tighe-Rod, and $350 on a Strider SnG. Other than those two, the most I've spent is $160. I've bought a lot of knives in the past year and for now am done, as I have everything I want/need in folders and fixed blades. Unless its something special, $150 is about my max.

$150 for me. There are so many awesome knives in the $100 to $150 range that I doubt I'll move from that bracket any time soon. I have promised myself that I WILL buy a $400 Sebenza at some point, but I've promised myself that I won't do that until I reach a life-changing milestone in my life.
