Price /performance ratio

Folders:
Spyderco Dragonfly-great blade, cuts all out of proportion for it's size, and even the SS/ATS-55 version can be found for a little over $30.

Not having owned or used them, the OE Paragee and Camillus 154CM EDC should be outstanding performers for the money. Great designs, flat grinds (I think), recurves, frame locks, good steels (AUS-8, 154CM). Either makes for quite a package.

Fixed blades:
Camillus BK&T line-Really liked the Brute, though the handles were too big for my small hands. Awesome knife for a hundred bucks. Gotta try the Patrol Machete, after having handled one.

Definitely Spyderco products since they are a top quality product and great value for money.

These are my choices for knives with alot of "bang for the buck":
In no particular order:

Spyderco Vesuvius
Microtech L.C.C.
Outdoor Edge Magna
CRKT M16
Camillus Cuda 154CM EDC
CRKT Crawford Kasper
Timberline Worden
Benchmade Griptilian

Buck 110, 186, 885, 119ms. That covers 3 blade steels and i do apologize that i dont get along with part serrated blades.
guy;)

Knives 4 the $$$. Well I think REKAT makes great stuff. Anything Spyderco (just a giv'n) Cold Steel Voyagers great for the $$

But several weeks ago I recieved a Tiberline Worden IT"S AWSOME!!! The knive is build like a tank. It came Razor sharp, it has zytel handles, however, the knife has stainless steel liners inside. I paid about $50.00 for it and I can honestly say that I've paid more for knives that were not even close to being this good. It carries well, although because of the thick "spine" down the back of the knife handle it is kinda heavy but VERY strong. Even used it as a hammer:eek:
Check 1 out you won't be disappointed

Cold Steel Bushman

It is simple math: the performance/price ratio goes up as price goes toward zero. And the Bushman can be had for $14 (bought on sale at less than $12), which is a lot closer to zero than most any knife price mentioned. Plus with the Bushman the perfomance is not totally terrible either (7" blade of medium quality carbon steel with lots of belly gives decent slicing). I've also got a Mora knife with approx 5" laminated blade I got for about the same money that will take a wicked edge, but rusts at the mere thought of moisture.

No, I don't contend that the Bushman is anywhere near the quality of most of the knives listed, but its price makes it a huge VALUE. And IIRC that was the criterion being asked about. There are CS folders & fixed blades that offer pretty good value in the $40-$60 range as well.

In the medium range, I concur with the CRKT,CS, and Spydie crowds. For more bucks, I am with Geode on the Busse Basic 7 offering at $160 a bombproof blade that will whup butt on many blades at much higher prices.

My $0.02 on bang for the buck,
Greg

Camillus Arclite (won 2001 Blade show award for best value)

S&W HRT Magnesium Folder

Outdoor Edge Paragee

Dozier Fixed Blades

The Marbles "Carver" Models (the ones with cocobolo/micarta handles)

GH Khukuris

I would have to say that it's my NEW Camillus Cuda EDC in 154CM steel (1 of 500) that I traded a Casio G-Shock watch for.:D.

(I'd SURE like to see the EDC also made with a 3.9 inch blade, 'tho...That would be TOTALLY EXCELLENT!).

Another good "bang for the buck" are the Cold Steel "2nds", as well as the REKAT D-2E Sifu.
