The new Bark River Wilderness Explorer is our version of the famous Loveless wilderness knife. This large knife is designed as a belt knife for wilderness trekking and hunting in the back country. The blade is configured with a good amount of straight edge for camp chores and plenty of forward cutting curve for slicing and skinning. With a very low distal taper, this knife is great for cutting cartilage around joints to make it easier to separate an animal for packing it out. The knife balances on the first finger in use. In this model, we have the powerful and incredibly durable CPM Cru-Wear tool steel made by Crucible. It has tremendous wear resistance and excellent all over toughness.
