Dunlop Gold Cup tires .

John Dunlop watched his young son struggling & bouncing on his steel [evidently ] wheeled trike & decided that a rubber ring would inprove the ride & traction.

I was sitting on a low wall in a mall parking area & as I lit a smoke my eyes spotted a new vehicle with Dunlops.
Then I remembered seeing the ad in that old London newspaper.

It was great fun watching our brains hard at work.

sounds like somebody's son needed a jockstrap really bad.:eek:
 
I think solid rubber tyres had been around for a while before Dunlop decided to put air in them. His son's trike probably had solid tyres.

The tyres were solid. I erred on that BUT it was interesting how this worked out , 'eh ?

Anyone interested in me pursuing this when I get the paper out of storage ?
