priciest sodbuster ever?

I just picked one up on the exchange for much less, it's a very nice knife. It is considered a custom blade, they run much more in price and are of better quality. K. Hampton, K.Johnson and G.Ingram all make excellent sodbusters for that price range.

When did Gene Ingram start making folders, I don't see any on his website, I have around 30 of his fixed blades, and often asked him if he would make a folder, but last I spoke to him he wasn't--yet.

price does not seem out of line for a hand made folder.

......Fish, Gene is making me a fixed blade sodbuster as we speak. I think the price he quoted me was something like $285. I asked for a larger, thicker handle.

I worked with Gene on a knife a few years ago. Besides being a top craftsman, he is just one of the nicest guys you will ever work with.

That's about the going rate for a single blade custom slippy. You just have to find who is really making the best in that price range and it seems unanimous that Mr. Ingram is top notch. If you appreciate knives and awesome craftsmanship you need a custom slippy. I own several customs and my slippies are carried the most.

Not sure when he started but I've seen a few while researching sodbusters. Here are a few pics from around the web
