I enjoy making a quality tool that gets put to work.
Rockspyder - This wrap is new for me and I haven't put it through the situation you describe. However, if you look at the last picture of the batonning, it looks like he did baton on the butt to drive the point through and apparantly the handle wrap held up.
I made a discovery this week, though: Minwax Wood Hardener does a better job of impregnating the paracord than suplerglue. It's thinner than water and doesn't seem to be nearly as finicky about the weather as CA, while hardening just as much or more. It has the side benefit of not making fumes that irritate my sinuses and eyes while working with it, and finishing with a more matte finish. That's going to be my new approach until I find a reason not to use it.
