Hi,
My friend has a couple of John Primble Knives and he asked me to try to find out what they were.
Both are pocket knives and the handles look like either bone or antler.
1) approx 3 and 5/8 in, 3 blade with # 5731-s on the main blade along with finest steel and his logo

2) approx 3and 1/2 in 2 blade with # 4992-s on the main blade along with finest steel and his logo

Could you please tell me what they are and how much they are worth? he is debating whether or not to hold on to them.
Thanks for your time....Tim Wetmore

In Bruce Voyles 2nd edition of IBCA price guide it says the 4992s is worth about $110 pristine mint and $50 in excellent condition (NKCA grading). I can't find the 5731s but most of the 3 blade stockmen come in at $100-$140 pristine mint and around half of that in excellent condition. They might be worth holding on to until your friend can find a Primble collector if they are in any kind of good shape at all.

Hope this helps a little.
