I want to thank very many of you whom have accepted me as a member of the community here and there are way too many to name individually. I found this place by accident, while searching for info on an old knife, which I was thinking about buying and my search landed me on Blade Forums. I began lurking for quite a while, as many others do, and later signed up for membership and started posting. I bet many of you might be surprised that I did not have a single photo of any of my knives until I came here. The photos here inspired me to dig out my old camera gear and start taking pictures of my collection. I am happy to say that I have most of my knives photographed now!
It was also my accidental finding of BF that caused me to become captivated by Waynorth's Charlows.
My mail call today was extra ordinary - it consisted of two packages and a spring green envelope. As you can see the contents were pretty impressive for a knife person. The two cards were from Jennifer (user name Jone) and her young daughter Riley (user name to be determined). A coin was carefully wrapped and attached to the card - a perfectly mint 2010 Chucky Cheese token from young Riley - boy is mom teaching that young lady knife etiquette or what !
Some may remember that I sent a yeller tiny toothpick to young Riley, via her knife loving mother. A wonderful thank you from both mother and daughter - and so much appreciated!! :
I don't think I need to tell you what young Riley's card said - you can see for yourself.
Up next - I opened the mailer from Marksharp - I already knew he was sending me a knife - I just did not know what knife! The HATCH knife! The old knife that everyone who saw it adored. I was stunned by this gift and once again by the generosity of the members here! I am in debt to you Mark for such a fine gift!!!
and last, but, not the least - a grail Charlow in Antique Amber saw-cut bone with long pull clip main. Evan (user name esnyx) traded this wonderful knife to me for another nice Charlow, which I had. I was so grateful that he made the trade, but, as we communicated back and forth, I was joking about my fantasy TC leather slip and he later asked me if I wanted to give a leather pouch a try. I said yes and thought he would send me a few basic items - instead it appears he gave me his whole tool box of leather making tools and leather supplies!! All he forgot was a new tool box for me to keep it all in!
and the new to me Charlow:
There are others who have lended me a helping hand and who have been very generous, including Stephen (Old & in the Way), Duane (Sitflyer), Barry (Gunstock Jack), Paul (pmew), and Waynorth has also offered assistance in helping me with my Charlow interests. Jon Slider has also provided me with valuable information. I thank you all so very much and I truly hope that I have not left anyone out.
Best regards to everyone!
