Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone out there made a primitive gift for their family or friends....
I just finished a bow and drill set but in conjunction with that made a deer hide bag (purse) that has a draw string top and a four strand braid strap. It has three thongs extending from the bottom. In all the gift will have:
1. The purse.
2. Attached to the bottom of the purse will be:
---The bow for the bow and drill set
---A sotol hand drill spindle
---An alder dowel (another hand drill option) with a hole drilled in the end for sotol plugs.
Inside the purse there was:
3. A cup, spindles (cactus, sotol, and cedar), and a baseboard (cedar) for the bow and drill
4. Short sotol plugs for the alder hand spindle
5. Flint and steel along with a can full of charred cloth
6. Juniper bark and pitch wood for tinder.
I like this gift so much... I want to keep it myself.
