I had STR do a clip for my Sm JYD, i mailed him a template instead of sending the knife, i had to drill the holes a bit bigger, but it was better than sending the knife insured both ways.
Sorry I missed your thread Steel Snob. Not sure how I manage to do that now and then. I still have the template from the first one but be advised even though that clip looks great his holes were slightly off when he got the clip and he had to tweak it some to fit it to the knife and then it needed further tweaking once it was mounted. There is no substitute for having the folder in hand. But if you want to have me do it like the last one it may need some additional adjustments once it arrives. Just FYI.
It involves maybe having to drill out a hole to help align it better to mount it and perhaps lifting the stem of the clip up after mounting it to move the stem to one side or the other to better center it. This resets the memory of the clip and once done its the only time you should have to do it. I suggest lifting it up to keep from scratching the folder.
I always say there is no substitute for having the folder in hand but anymore I sell a great many clips that folks install themselves and have only a few issues where I have to walk them through how to handle it. While not all are successful most are so I'm batting a pretty good average so far anyways.
