Repost from General Discussion

I have a Spyderco Pro Venator which I acquired about 13-15 years ago. It has the rubber inserts in the handle and a rubber insert in the pocket clip. The serrations take up about ¾ of the blade edge and the rest is double beveled. It’s a lockback. I’ve never used the knife, just thought at the time it was neat and included it in a trade I was making instead of taking “boot” money. It was new in the box and has never been sharpened. Now for the question; does anyone know what the blade steel is? Steels were not among my priorities at the time, and since they don’t make it anymore, I’m at a loss to find what steel it’s made of.

Thank you for your kindness! I'm sorta new at this, but enjoying it immensly! I have several folders of which 2 are Spyderco's, and am planning another....I like gadgets and the Poliwog looks like something I might like. I'm a Mcusta fan and the VG-10 steel is interesting also.
