Problem and can it be solved.

Hi.
I joined a few years ago and bought a knife from someone here and really haven't been active on here since. I'm not a big knife guy. I like them just don't collect them. Anyway I moved to Virginia recently. After my move my employer said they found my name on this forum and not in good light!? So I took a look. Apparently there was some guy going by...lazy otter...that did a bunch of shady things. He also happens to have the same 1st and last name as me. I understand the post and why it's up since I read through most of it. What I want to know is how and if my name can be removed? I don't care about the post and lazy otter or even the address being up. None of that effects me,but the names being the same is the issue. Is there anything that can be done or am I just stuck here?. I'm not trying to buy,sell,or even really be on this forum for those reasons. I barely ever even log in.

A sticky situation as that would be removing the scammers name too.


If you just recently moved to VA, I would think that showing that you lived elsewhere back in 2015 would help prove you are a different person.

Many people have the same name, that alone should not have a great effect. If someone brings it up, just tell them that you are aware of it, and it is not you. They are free to research it further. I don't think they should remove the true offenders name, to protect from a reocurance here or somewere else, but I do feel for you.

True. I honestly hadn't thought about the dates and years. I guess it's a non issue then.

You're right. As the guy above stated I wasn't living in VA during this time so it's a non issue. I just freaked out when my new Sargent pointed it out....lol!
