Problem Drilling Holes

We have a drill doctor where I work , do not waste your money buy a drill gauge so that you can keep your angles the same on both cutting edges of your drill. Then just sharpen them on a belt sander. When drilling steel always use coolant and if your chips are blue slow your rpm down.

Drill Dr

bought a model 300 , 1st model I think, at a neighbors garage sale
for $5.00. He and his friend couldn't make it work.

I called the factory got the owners manual and some advise
and now love it. You have to set the bit correctly.

Sometimes
I use a dremel whit a carbide burr to open a hole bigger.
Wend the material is hard and
Precision is not required.
Since you don have any hole thru yet
I say, spot anneal and cobalt or carbide drill bit slow rpm
Best regards
