Problem Resolved

I have no dog in this fight. I totally understand where CZIV is coming from but at the same time I understand where CRK is coming from. I was about to use the same analogy that blade2klean used.
What I was going to say was, if you buy a Mercedes, then get home and notice the quarter panel had some rust on it that seemed to appear deep into the metal. YOu take a sander to it and shave off a good bit of metal to rid the car of its defect. You get rid of the problem then proceed to paint over the area. After that the job that you did looks terrible.
What would the dealer or manufacture tell you when you called to tell them you were unhappy with the car after YOU made a mess of it. I would have asked you "why didn't you call or simply bring it in to be fixed or have that quarter panel replaced.
I understand your frustration here CZIV but lets all take a breather and ask ourselves what is reasonable here. CRK are very reasonable people and that is why they have such a huge "fan base". Lets see what the outcome will be.

If the knife left the company flawed, it's up to the company to come good with the flaw, but not after the customer took it upon himself to "fix" it rather than simply sending it in. Anything CRK does from this point is a nice gesture, but not necessary, IMO. Regardless of how this turns out, CRK doesn't deserve a black eye because a customer is frustrated and expects them to come good. Just my take on it.
