hi - got a CQC7 a few weeks ago, and the action is really tight and STICKEY(stickey is best word to describe)- tried white lightening, loosening pivot screw ( didnt help unless so loose ya get blade wobble) w/no luck - and i worked it open/shut a few times LOL - its not at all like my friends emerson, which, once broken in is smooth as silk- what should i do? send it back to emerson?? i'm really disappointed about this........

2 things I'd suggest-if anyone has put loctite on the pivot, perhaps they got a little overzealous and got it into all of the stuff in there?
or if you are comfortable, take your knife apart, maybe polish the pivot and washer and pivot hole in the blade with a dremel, felt tip and some fits polish. there may be some rough places. Some may advise against this, as it will happen over time, but I did it to my socfk and it is smooth as all get out. If you are uncomfortable doing this you could ask a suspect for help, send it to eki or if you sent it to a suspect they may do it for you...
Hope you get it figured out.
cheers,
DWE

I had the same problem with my mini 7...it seems there is a second cutout in the liner the opposite side of the lock that rest on the blade. i heard something about a double indent to secure the blade from openning in your pocket...anyway it makes for rough openning...anybody else have this problem

If you are referring to the double ball bearing, the only problem I had with it is that when you loosen the pivot, it can cause the blade to rub the liner toward the end. I just took the knife (socfk)apart, and pushed out the ball bearing a bit so it would back off.
it is like that on my mini 7, but I have not taken it down and monkeyed with it yet...
cheers,

hi - thanks for the info - i am gonna box that baby up and send it to emerson later this PM - i paid about $130 for it, and its just not acceptable like this - hopefully emerson will take care of me on this matter, i have heard they have great customer assistance - i guess i'll find out lol - but this is the stiffest locking liner knife i have ever seen - i have spyderco, kershaw, CRKT, REKAT, BM, etc etc and they are much much smoother - this cant be representative of emerson knifes - and i have lubed it, and worked the action a jillion times, and it just does not get better - heck sometimes i think its getting stickier lol - well will post again and let ya know what happens - i'm off to the post office......

Hey Vet,

Sounds like you are ahead of me but, send the knife back to us. Once it arrives I will have it looked over and will advise.
