I had a bit nitric acid in my home and put a lot of iron shavings in it, but it looks like the acid has problem to dissolve all of it. The solution is now very dark and foamy.
For how long time does it need to stay before the process is finished? And if I had too much iron in the acid, can I then strain it in a coffee filter and add more acid or water?
