Yep. And that's why I love mine, too.
 
I have the same issue with my necker. Love the knife but the sheath does seem to dull it. Its kinda annoying because I take great pride in keeping my knives sharp.
 
Make sure your spine is touching when you insert the blade? does that make sense? When i put mine up i always line up the spine w/ the top inside of the sheath and follow the contour of the spine...and when i take her out, i make sure to keep the spine on the top inside as well..
