I wanted to report a negative experience I recently had with Discount Knives. I had twice previously ordered knives from Brian and had good experiences both times with excellent prices and fairly prompt service. But in mid-December I ordered a Mission MPF-1 titanium through his website. A couple of days later I received an email from him confirming my order. The website does state that Mission knives must be specially ordered, so I was expecting some delay in delivery .
However, in the beginning of January I noticed that Discount Knives had charged my Visa for the knife. I sent Brian an email inquiring about the status of my order. I figured that if my card had been charged, he had received the knife and was shipping it to me or would be doing so soon. I got no response. I sent another email about three days later. Again no response. Finally I had no recourse but to dispute the charge with my credit card company and I again sent an email to Brian informing him that I was intending to do this. To date I have not received any response to any of my emails.
I was puzzled by this whole episode because, as I indicated above, I have had good experience with Discount Knives in the past and prior to this incident I would not have hesitated in recommending them to anyone.
I also want to make clear that I am not complaining about the fact that the knife has not been delivered because I know that Mission knives are often backlogged, particularly the folder. What I am complaining about is the fact that my card was charged for the knife and that none of my repeated inquiries were acknowledged.

P.S. I was able to cover the knife from World Wide Knives, who also offered it at a very competitive price but, unlike Discount Knives, was very responsive to my emails and kept me informed as to when they ordered the knife from Mission, when they received it and sent it to me. In fact, when I first ordered the knife from them, they told me I would get it in early February, but I received it last night, slightly ahead of schedule.
